The Deathadder 3.5G is the much-needed replacement for the dusty Deathadder technology. This is a great pleasure for us, as most of the complaints we had about the old Deathadder have been fixed in the new version. Even better, now you can get the Deathadder in a left-handed edition! For lefties this is a must as it is the only trustworthy brand with a left handed gaming mouse.

Let’s start with the bad. The number one complaint by far is that the sides are plastic. There’s no grip, no rubber coating, it feels like the cheap M $ mouse that might come with your Dell. After a while of gaming, the mouse becomes slippery. It doesn’t take much to make the mouse feel gross. Seriously, Razer, what were you thinking?

While the durability appears to be better than the old Deathadder, there are still some issues. The mouse buttons are not as durable as they should be and can break on some models. While it is not a common problem, it can happen even to those who treat their toys well.

With that out of the way though, there’s a lot to love about the mouse. It’s capable of much faster movement and acceleration than the old Deathadder, and the 3500 DPI should be sufficient for even the most nervous gamers. On top of that, it’s one of the best infrared mice out there, which means it should be able to use some of the surfaces that laser mice can’t. Did someone say Icemat I-2?

It should also be mentioned that the mouse has a relatively high arch towards the back. It is designed to fit all hand sizes, but is more suited to those who like to rest the palm of their hand on the back of the mouse. For most, the mouse is comfortable, except for those ruined plastic sides!

Be sure to check out our Logitech G500 review for a point of comparison before purchasing, but we have no problem suggesting this mouse to anyone.
