Summer Penile Rash Control

Going to the beach, hiking, mowing the lawn: come summer, a guy can’t help but spend a lot more time outdoors. After all, that’s what the season is for. But along with all the positive aspects of summer, there are also negative aspects. And for many men, a summer rash on the penis is one of those irritants. Even when a man is at the top of his penile health game, he may proudly push his trunk to find red, scaly, or unattractive penile skin.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the things a man can do to help keep penile rash in check while still enjoying the lazy, misty days of summer.

– Opt for light colors and light fabrics. One of the main causes of skin rashes in the summer is sweating from excess heat. This can be especially true in the case of a penile rash, as the double whammy of underwear plus a pair of pants can significantly increase your crotch-warmth quotient. Wearing lightweight pants can help keep the heat down, as can wearing lighter colors that don’t absorb as much heat. Some guys may also consider leaving their underwear on to keep themselves cooler; that’s an option, but sometimes exposing the sensitive skin on your penis to the fabric of your pants can cause its own irritation.

– Go loose. It also helps if the clothes a guy wears aren’t as tight. Baggier pants give a man a chance to breathe and keep your basement a little cooler.

– Take off your cycling shorts quickly. Compression shorts are great for biking and other sports, but they really add to the heat level, so much so that in the summer they can actively encourage the development of folliculitis. Folliculitis is infected hair follicles that create red spots that resemble a rash. So ditch the shorts ASAP and jump into a nice shower for added protection.

– Be careful with the chlorine levels of the pool. Most public pools are kept at an appropriate chlorine level, but many pools in one’s backyard may not have it. Too much chlorine can dry out the skin or cause an allergic reaction, both of which can result in a penile rash in some men. Too little can allow bacteria or parasites to thrive, which in turn can also cause skin rashes.

– Go to extremes. To keep sweating (and the chance of a resulting rash) to a minimum, try to schedule outdoor summer activities at the beginning or end of the day. The heat will be less in the morning or at night than at noon.

– Choose cleaners. Going to the beach or pool often means using the facility’s shower afterwards, which may include using their soap and shampoo. When possible, a man should bring his own, which hopefully he already knows won’t cause a rash on his penis. Harsh commercial soaps and cleansers, such as those used in a group shower, often create penile skin problems.

– Be careful with tan all over. Nude sunbathing, whether on the beach or in a tanning salon, exposes the sensitive skin of the penis to the unknown rays of the sun (or reasonable facsimile). Burning is the obvious risk, but more limited exposure can also create dryness, which can become scaly and rashy in no time.

Summer doesn’t have to mean a bout of penile rash, especially if a man only takes basic precautions. This includes the regular application of a premium quality penis health cream. (Healthcare professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven to be gentle and safe for skin.). Healthy penile skin is more resistant to breakouts, so choose a cream that provides you with a wide range of beneficial vitamins, including A, B5, C, D, and E. While a man is at it, you need to make sure the cream also include L-arginine. This valuable amino acid helps support the process by which the penile blood vessels can open properly to accommodate the increased blood flow essential for superior penile activity.
