How should you react if you are fired from work?

The recession monster is looming over everyone around the world these days. Therefore, layoffs have become a regular affair in the industry. The pink slide continues unabated in almost all sectors.

In case you are the victim of a layoff, remember that if you handle the situation intelligently with a sense of self-respect; there is a good chance that your company could become your potential employer again in the future.

Layoff is a typically difficult situation for both employees and employers. In such delicate moments, many unanswered problems arise and the dismissed employee can develop various feelings that lead to an irreparable bad relationship with employers.

Therefore, you need to be extremely attentive to the situation, while following the do’s and don’ts can go a long way during the hour of crisis.

1) You must remain calm and avoid losing your temper at all costs. Even if you come across certain unpleasant moments, keep quiet.
2) It is very likely that you feel a strong impulse to react to the following:

a) A less competent colleague who occupies the cabin next door is still at work.
b) Irresponsible, foolish, selfish and may be greedy behavior from your employers depending on your perspective.

……..but that’s his point of view and it might be fair depending on the overall situation.

3) Try not to express your obvious anger and don’t linger even the slightest bit of anger for too long. This can create unbridgeable gaps in relationships with many people who could be of help to you in the future.
4) Even if you’re not fired, introspect and summarize all the points that are the cause of your angst and impulsive behavior when your company is laying people off from time to time. Remember that such actions may cause you to get a pink receipt in the future. Therefore, be careful when expressing your thoughts to your friends, colleagues and especially your superiors.
5) Sharing your paths decently with the bosses will always be your advantage. There is a good chance that based on your calm and cooperative demeanor, the employer can make good recommendations about you, which can be instrumental in getting a better opportunity in the future.
6) It is not wise to beg for your job as it will be of no use as the employers have already decided on you.
7) Remember that your peaceful departure from the company will help you to continue maintaining good relations with employers even after such difficult times have passed. You will find help coming from several past partners in the future. You may even feel like coming back to the company after a while.
8) With a few tips in mind, if you keep your self-control intact and behave with self-respect, chances are good that your employer may be able to contact you for a graceful comeback in the near future.
9) There is no point in openly showing your sincere anger. Do not also develop a feeling of guilt of any kind; since this situation is not created by you. There is no one in this world who feels good about your current situation.
10) In this moment of crisis, when your heart is full of anguish & your patterns are also inexpressive; it does not mean a total absence of feelings in your patterns. This time is certainly equally painful for both of them.

Plan your Future with intelligence: Following the advice will be of great benefit to you.

1) Develop Portable Skills – Try to introspect and identify such skills, which can especially prove your suitability as you switch between the public and private sectors.
2) Develop a multitasking personality: Try to develop a plug-n-play multitasking personality where you can prove your adaptability to multidisciplinary profiles at any time.
3) Develop new skills: Try to develop additional skills where there is still a high demand.
4) Build Flexibility – Don’t be inflexible or picky about a change of location, salary package, or even a slightly different job profile.
5) Use your past network: Use every opportunity to reach out to the guys who have helped you in the past, who can be instrumental in paving the way to a new opening. Get in touch with people, collect all the useful information and act with a positive attitude.
