put your house in order

Is your house in order? Are you sure? The chaos and confusion that we often see inside, around us and after we have left the stage are always the result of our inability to do what we are supposed to do, how we are supposed to do it and at the right time. When we neglect our duties, those who come after us and the whole society pay for it. Here, we’ll look at the factors and actions that often lead to these avoidable problems. We will also see how they affect us, our relationships and our family. Don’t you see all the struggles that engulf most of our families today just over inheritance and property? It is God’s will that we live happily, successfully and also pass on love, peace, obedience and divine covenants and relationships to our children and the next generations and not the endless hate, hostility and ‘war’ as we see everywhere . Many homes, institutions are today in bitter battles because someone did not do what he was supposed to do on time. And you know that what happens at home affects the whole society. If they are flawed, society is sure to be in chaos. But if we do it well at the domestic level, we will have a peaceful, happy and prosperous society. Now, look at your family, your establishment, do you think that’s how it’s supposed to be?

Maybe we’ll try to start from the beginning so that we can get enough background on what we want to discuss here. Must? The first home was in Eden. It was beautiful and blessed. But look what happened there when it didn’t work out the way it was supposed to. That failure brought the fall of man and of all creation, “The snake was the most cunning of all the wild animals that the Lord God had made. One day he asked the woman: ‘Did God really say that you should not eat the fruit of none of them? the trees in the garden?’ “Of course we can eat fruit from the trees in the garden,” replied the woman, “It is only the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden that we are not allowed to eat.” God said, ‘You must not eat it or even touch it; if you do, you will die.’ You will not die! the snake replied to the woman. God knows that as soon as you eat it, your eyes will open and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.

The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and the fruit from it looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom that it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. So she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he also ate. At that moment their eyes were opened and they suddenly felt ashamed of their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves. As the cool evening breeze blew, the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking in the garden. So they hid from Jehovah God among the trees. Then Jehovah God called to the man: ‘Where are you?’ He replied: ‘I heard you walking in the garden, so I hid. I was scared because he was naked. Who told you that you were naked? Jehovah God asked. ‘Have you eaten from the tree whose fruit I commanded you not to eat?’ The man answered: The woman you gave me was the one who gave me the fruit, and I ate.” Genesis 3:1-12

Did you read that? This was the basis for the household disruption. The serpent there is the Devil, that same old deceiver. He came to entice them to disobey God’s instructions. God had made everything beautiful and put Adam and Eve to take care of creation. The home and relationship were perfect until this unholy interaction with the evil one. I went through the entire conversation just for our appreciation of what happened, but our main concern is the anomaly of the woman’s role in the mess and failure and the man’s inability to assert leadership and headship from him. A wise woman would have involved the man, the husband in the discussion and the process from the beginning. Why did Eva stall the argument, end it, and act on it before involving the man, the head of the family? And since some believe that Adam was present, how could he be watching helplessly and stupidly as that old deceiver lured his wife into sin and destruction without saying a word? Why did he even eat that fruit without any resistance?

There must be a gap in this whole story. Remember, the responsibility was on Adam as the head of the household. Eva was just a helper. Adam was the head. That is why when God came he addressed the man and not the woman. He called and questioned Adam as head of the household. The issue was between God and man. God holds man responsible for the success or failure of the home. This first family was abnormal. The woman received the visitor, did all the arguing, picked the apple and finally gave it to her irresponsible and meek husband and he ate it whole without asking a question. OMG! Adam acted like he was tied down by something during this period. But are there men like him today? Sure! Look around you you will see many of them. I am referring to men who have been turned into wives, bystanders, robots, visitors, bystanders, servants, attendants, rubber stamps in their own homes with satanic powers. Since then they have lost their spiritual and physical positions and leadership. Like Adam, they are being caged and manipulated by the daughters of Eve and Jezebel. But I pray that you will be released today from these chains of the enemy in the mighty name of Jesus! It’s very clear here that Eve was completely in charge. No wonder that union also produced a terrible seed like Cain’s; the first murderer, the first murderer. By action, it is clear that this Adam was not qualified or rather, he did not know exactly what was expected of him as head of the family and of creation.

Things have gone wrong in many homes today because the men who are supposed to be the head have abdicated their roles and responsibilities. Since then, women or other interests have taken over their positions. This is abnormal. It is not the will of God. Adam was the one who was given the responsibility and when he failed, he was also asked to explain. And it’s not about who is richer, who has a better job, who is physically bigger, smarter, more beautiful or educated. Nope! It is a spiritual order. It’s the way God designed it. What wise and pious women do is that they fully support their husbands, encourage them and are patient with them, cover their nakedness and weaknesses, and constantly confront and position them as the head. But the wicked will disgrace, disgrace, abuse and expose their own, especially when they are no longer up to the task financially or educationally. No matter how great or successful the woman is, God still sees the man (even if he is deformed) as the head of the household. And any attempt to ridicule or forcibly relegate him can bring serious divine curses, reproaches and trouble to the home. Yes, I hear you say that some of them are very irresponsible, foolish and careless. If that’s true. But they are still the head spiritually. You just have to pray for them to recover their meaning, position and also ask for the grace and wisdom to cope with the situation and make them what God wants them to be. In Eden, in the first home, God demanded an explanation and responsibility from the man and not from the woman. Now, if you are a man, you must get up immediately and take your position! We will see other areas next week.
