The Central Importance of Leadership Development

The central element for the existence of an organization; In my opinion, it is the Leaders who have created the culture of the organization. What is the legacy that a particular leader wants to leave for that particular organization? In essence, in most cases, when said organization is driven by the initial philosophy of a particular founder of a company; then it becomes the true moral fiber of that company, or as some have said, the “backbone” of the organization. That’s what leaders do: they commit their whole soul to influencing others to follow them in the pursuit of excellence and success. Central core importance to leaders is progress issues in executing core product or service delivery with the view that no one is better at providing a particular product and services to that product than the company they lead. Take a look at successful corporations and see how their leaders have left a huge influence on your organization, including: Microsoft, Forbes, Nordstrom’s, Ford Motor Company, and Disney Corporation. All of these organizations were founded on the principles of a particular philosophy created by their founders and instituted their beliefs within business protocols for others to follow and abide by; in essence, it’s the culture they built on, what I call the core importance of leadership development.

The mandate to implement such influences becomes a participatory process of understanding that to lead, leaders must become teachers. And thus, they become masters of not only teaching, but also shaping a comprehensive business-oriented curriculum with the concepts of educational enrichment. The role of the leaders aspires to take root with the tasks of fostering relationships between the key actors of the organization; so that they too become masters of the philosophical principles of the main leader; which then has formed the creation of a leadership team to execute the mission of the organization. Once again bottom line progress, success and earnings as without earnings no one gets paid and bonus will be a thing of the past and no one likes that. This is what I called in organizational development and management the “pyramid layered application of leadership”, it is the same concept that affects trickle-down economic theory; it has a domino effect.

The central factor besides the influence of leadership and teaching is the support component. Core leadership competencies will never be achieved without providing the necessary tools for success. This concept is valid in virtually all areas of leadership. The most notable is in military operations, imagine leading without the proper equipment, soldiers would be vulnerable and loss of life would be at stake. The same goes for education without the right tools. Students would find it difficult to learn and the gap between teacher and student would widen to the point of unimaginable proportions. Ongoing training and development is critical at the heart of progress, success and profits.

With leaders at the forefront of the thought process are the issues of innovation. Innovation and creativity are always factors that play a role in driving an organization towards progress, success and profit, they should always be three steps ahead of their competition, not one but three as they are people with foresight and they are constantly planning and evaluating. the surrounding circumstances, particularly that of the counterparties. What is always sought is professional growth at all levels. Smart leaders are always concerned about the well-being of their people and usually try to give them the best possible care from all perspectives.
