UFC 132: Lebanon Vs Silva

At UFC 132 a war will take place between two men who love to fuck. These two men are Chris Leban and Wanderlei Silva. The fight between these two men could end up being the fight of the night. Chris Leban and Wanderlei Silva don’t know how boring a fight is. They both love to keep going when they are in fights and they both like to leave everything in the cage. This fight will be anything but boring and it will certainly be a very entertaining show. Let’s look at some of the key areas that will determine the winner of this fight.

Surprising

Both men enjoy going toe to toe with their opponents and they like to see who will knock out who first. In the past, Leban and Silva have generally been victorious when their opponents have dared to stand up and negotiate with them.

The Lebanese often throw wild and crazy punches. His punch is not the most technical, but it is very effective as Leban has tremendous power in both hands. After the first season of Ultimate Fighter, he won his first five UFC fights and proved that he is a very tough fighter.

Wanderlei Silva’s hit is nothing but legendary. He enjoys nothing better than using Muay Thai to crush and destroy his opponents until they are nothing but a mess on the ground. 23 knockouts in 33 MMA victories to date for Silva is an excellent record. Although Silva will have a slight advantage in technical hitting, there won’t be much technique in this fight once the two meet head-on in the middle of the Octagon.

Cardio

Both men’s cardio is reasonable, but I think the Lebanese will have a slight advantage. This is because Wanderlei Silva has just returned from a 17-month layoff due to injury. It is always good for a fighter to be as active as possible. There is likely some rust in the ring from Silva as he hasn’t fought for so long. Add to the equation that Leban is the youngest man and most active fighter (Leban fought Aaron Simpson and Yoshihiro Akiyama two weeks apart and won both fights) and you can see why Leban has the upper hand.

Velocity

At his peak, Wanderlei Silva had incredible speed with his Muay Thai, delivering knee after knee before this opponent was knocked out. However, the speed of the hand or the speed of movement of Wanderlei Silva is not what it was with age, but mainly injuries have taken their toll.

Chris Leban has never been known as the fastest guy in the division, but he has arguably the biggest heart. Leban is the type of fighter who needs one punch to land two, so if his speed isn’t up to the mark against Silva, he will try to find another way to win.

Shipments

Both men love to fight, but they both have a very good submission game. Chris Leban has 6 career submission wins to date. Although Leban has twice as many submission wins compared to Wanderlei Silva (3 submission win), Wanderlei Silva is a Brazilian black belt. Therefore, Wanderlei Silva would not be at a disadvantage if the fight were taken to the ground. If the fight went to the ground, Wanderlei Silva would be no stranger to what to do there.

The final verdict

The battle between these two fighters has the potential to be one of the largest and most brutal battles in UFC history. This is one of those combinations where style is the perfect match.

Any other fighter would perhaps consider taking Silva to the ground to test his fight. Chris Leban is no other fighter. He’ll be looking to test his punches against an MMA legend, so this will turn into an exciting match, one that could be talked about for years to come. In the end, I think Chris Leban will take the win over Wanderlei Silva after three rounds of absolute hell by decision.
