Islamorada, Florida Fishing

Islamorada is part of the Florida Keys. It is located south of Key Largo and is quite close to the mainland of Florida. If you haven’t heard of fishing in the Florida Keys, you’re missing out. There are numerous fishing shows and fishing tournaments showing this entire area and Islamorada is no exception. The fishing here is tremendous and makes for a great vacation destination for family and friends. There are so many things to do here, like diving and snorkeling, parasailing, renting a boat or jet ski, fishing, or just gazing at the beautiful turquoise blue waters and gorgeous sunsets.

When it comes to fishing, Islamorada boasts of being the “Sport Fishing Capital of the World” with the largest fishing fleet per square mile in the world. I can’t verify if this area really has the largest fishing fleet per square mile in the entire world, but I can say that there are numerous fishing excursions that take clients throughout the day. The fishermen are fishing early in the morning during the afternoon, evening and even at night. Fishermen just can’t get enough fish when they come here and when they leave, all they think about is when they can come back.

I have heard from friends that they cannot go anywhere else after visiting this area. For them, other destinations just don’t compare. If you like to fish for a variety of coastal and marine species such as sailfish, tuna, dolphin, bonefish, permit, tarpon, and many others, planning a trip here may not be a bad idea. If you have a family that likes to be around water, this is definitely a place for you because there are so many things that will keep you busy.
