How to use Feng Shui and still be practical in your relationship

It is possible to follow the principles of Feng Shui and still live practically. There are so many advantages of using Feng Shui in your home, feel comfortable and get along with your spouse at the same time.

I am a Feng Shui consultant and I know the rules and the reasons for them. However, I found that I had to be practical to stay married. Therefore, I don’t follow all the rules all the time. The reason for this is that I married a man who had never been married before. He is a graphic designer and artist. This is a marriage made in heaven. We fill in the gaps of others. Where I am fast and energetic, he is calm, slow and relaxed. He is relaxed, unless it comes to something that is very important to him. Cars are his passion. Need I say more? We share most of the interests and our Spiritual Philosophy is on the right track. We both love classic movies and jazz. We love to dance. We enjoy being together.

We have been married 11 years. I’ve found that when one partner usually can’t break, the other person can. How much do you want it to work? Is it more important to you to be right or to be happy?

My husband owned his home in a desirable location. Over the years he had collected furniture and paintings that he loved. He had a house full of furniture when I sold my house. My furniture arrived at my new home in the largest moving truck available. His house was already full. A negotiation began. Being very much in love, we were able to slowly but surely work everything out.

We have a lot of fun and spend a lot of time choosing the color to paint the interior of our house, buying new carpets and decorative items.

Some things were non-negotiable for me. To begin with, there was a steering wheel and a column in the dining room.

A Feng Shui adjustment was made. We had a mirror cut to fit behind the oven and the kitchen extended to the end of the wall. It was a balance of fire (the stove) and water (the mirror).

The main bedroom was another problem. He didn’t like my old bedroom set. I sold it. I didn’t like the wicker piece he used as a headboard. Got rid of him. It took us a long time to agree on the perfect bedroom furniture and headboard. Eventually we found something we both love.

One thing you don’t want in your bedroom is too many mirrors. Multiplies Chi energy and causes bad sleeping habits. However, my new husband wanted the closet doors to be mirrored. That made a whole wall of mirrors which looked great but is extremely bad feng shui. There are some cures (solutions) that can be done with mirrors. Hanging curtains or curtains over the mirrors or the use of a beautiful Chinese screen are some of the possible solutions. Space is a consideration with the screen and both the curtains and the screen would hide the mirrors my husband loved. I made the decision not to let it bother me. Giving and receiving is what marriage is all about.

Our entire home is a soft warm taupe that we both love. However, I wanted something quite different in our bedroom. I think warm pumpkin tone. I took my husband to see a room that had the color I had chosen. He took one look and sat up in shock. He examined paint samples and found a beautiful soft shade of apricot that we both love.

The main atmosphere that I want to achieve in our home is a feeling of warmth, peace and serenity. Most of the people who come to our house comment on those same things.

Feng Shui is important in all aspects of life. Help make your work life and your home a place of comfort, peace and love. With a little thought, Feng Shui can still be practical in any home.
