In addition to activities, both downtown Petoskey and Harbor Springs offer fantastic shopping in their cute centers and a number of great dining options.

Boyne in the winter

In the winter season, the Boyne area is packed with all kinds of winter sports activities, from snowshoeing to snowshoeing, ice skating and even ice fishing. But of course skiing takes the ultimate prize as the top winter activity in the Boyne area. With three of Michigan’s best ski resorts in one small space, Boyne skiing can provide days, if not weeks, of fun. The three resorts are Nub’s Nob, Boyne Highlands, and Boyne Mountain. All three are fairly similar in size and can easily accommodate all levels of skiers and snowboarders. For those less experienced, lessons and rentals are also available at each of the resorts.

Boyne in spring, summer and autumn

When winter ends, the Boyne area warms up (both literally and figuratively). As temperatures rise, golf courses open up and the area offers some of the best golf courses in Michigan. There are dozens, if not more, of beautiful and challenging courses scattered throughout Petoskey, Harbor Springs, and Boyne City.

Also, for golfing, the area is adjacent to beautiful, sandy Lake Michigan. if the weather is warm enough, no trip is complete without a dip in the most beautiful of the Great Lakes. On cooler days, there’s still fun in the water at Avalanche Bay Water Park in Boyne Falls. The water park is kept at a comfortable temperature throughout the year and has plenty of pools, slides and other activities for children and adults.
