Professional Poker Tools – Table Scanners

If everyone played poker perfectly, eventually everyone would go broke and the game would be over. In this scenario the house is the only winner. If you’re the 10th best poker player in the world, you should do pretty well. But what if the other nine players at your table were ranked one through nine? You are now the worst player in your particular game. This is where table selection comes into play. You only earn money when other players make mistakes. This means that you should find and play games with players who make the most mistakes. But with so many online poker rooms and so many tables open at any one time, how are you supposed to find the best games? The answer is to use a tabletop scanner. So what is a tabletop scanner?

A poker table scanner is a tool used by professional poker players to find the best games online to maximize their winnings. This software usually comes with a monthly fee, but it’s worth it for the increased earnings you’ll get from playing only the best games. So how does this software work?

The table scanner will scan all tables at the limits and game type you choose in any online card room you play and will record each player at each table. These players are then called up in your tracking software’s database and their stats populate the table. These statistics are graded and given a score. The table is then scored based on the quality of the individual players combined into a single number. You can then sort the tables of various poker rooms, limits and games to find the most profitable tables at any given time. Most programs available also allow you to create a friends list so you can easily see if someone on your suspect list is online. It is often very profitable to sit at a table for the sole reason of exploiting a player that you know is especially weak.

Most table selection tools give you a free trial period. Use this free trial to find the desktop scanner that best meets your needs and budget. If you play $0.50/$1 limit hold’em for a few hours a week, it doesn’t make any sense for you to pay $50 every month for a piece of software.

If you’re not currently practicing any sort of game picking, you should see a significant increase in your win rate, even in a very short period of time.
