Buffalo normally live in areas with dense vegetation near swamps and large rivers. Due to its size and pride, it has few predators. Once the calves are born, they are hidden in the bushes for a few weeks while their mothers nurse them before they are allowed to gore the herd. They require a lot of water daily, so they live near watercourses. They are also very good grasses.
