Fear of holes – Trypophobia

Many people think that they are the only ones in the world who are nervous about holes. Not all holes matter to you, just little holes in lopsided groups, often with things in them. Like a lotus seed pod. Most people when faced with this fear start to feel really uncomfortable and a creepy itchy feeling creeps up their body.

The types of holes that trypophobes fear fall into the following categories;

meat

Holes that occur in different types of tissues, human and animal, this is a pretty big category. Human skin pores, if they are enlarged, blackheads, pockmarks left by acne or other skin disorders. Holes in the skin caused by creatures that may have eaten through the skin creating a hole.

food

Cheese with holes in it may seem like the most obvious, but there is also honeycomb. In types of meat there are holes and I think these are to allow the passage of the veins. There are plenty of completely disgusting holes to be found in various types of shutdown. I think gizzards are particularly good at finding holes.

Flora

Those dried seed pods you get in potpourri.

These are things like maggots and maggots and other things that eat things and create holes in materials and food.

Geological

Holes that are created naturally like in the ocean creating holes in the rocks.
