Home Based Business Party Plan – Waste of Time or Not?

Several years ago, 1986 to be exact, I joined a company (which
will remain unnamed) who promoted using the party plan
method, markets, craft fairs, Christmas bazaars, etc. by
distributors to sell their products. They required a small
monthly payment for training and materials until paid in full.

The first thing I did was throw a party at home. I had to
buy products (at wholesale prices) to display them. me
was authorized to charge any amount he wanted for these
products or use the prices indicated in your retail catalogue.
Invitations were mailed out and a good size crowd showed up.
Everyone liked the products and bought accordingly. Me
The next foray was at a flea market in the parking lot of the local mall.
That didn’t go so well so it was more or less a waste of my time.

christmas bazaar I ended up selling the products so my
the cost was just to sell them. Bad news! End of this story.

Update to the year 1999 and my next experience with a different
the company starts. This mis-selling just keeps me tangled up in
his website despite the fact that 13 years have passed.

What made it happen was this notion that I needed (just had to)
I have) a crystal that my mom bought a long time ago when I was in
high school through a house party. I already have a piece
A friend gave it to me and I fell in love.

While going through some old magazine clippings that I saved,
I found a brochure of this company. I had 800
number on the list, so I called. I was put in contact with a
dealer within walking distance of my house. she came to
my house and held a party to get me started.

prove you had these parts. Find six people to convince

Having another party at my house turned out to be a waste of time.
time and money, but it was a learning lesson. I sent 40
invitations and 4 people showed up. You identify? sales

It was a very upsetting start.

Finally, I finished my six parts and it was a relief.
Next was settling in at the local county fair. me
I managed to sign up a lady to have a party and several parties

December were the highest in my upline, so that made me feel
right. In February, I moved into a local motel where
distributors of other companies were also established. HAS
An ad was placed in the newspaper to attract prospects. what a total waste
of time! I said I would never do that again. End of story.

What I learned from this experience is that very few people
wants to have a party at home because it involves too much work.
They have to clean their house, decide what snacks to serve,
and make a guest list to send invitations. so only 3
or 4 people show up and the delivery man is left with very few
sales and more work than it was worth. It doesn’t matter if you have to
driving all over the place with bad directions to your house!
