Most people, who are avid Lululemon fans, have noticed that Lululemon does not have an official online clothing store. This is really a problem for people who don’t live near a Lululemon store. Although Lululemon is growing internationally, most of its stores are still located in large Canadian centers. So what can you do if you want to buy Lululemons online? There are three popular ways to buy new or used Lululemons online (i) eBay, (ii) Craigslist, (iii) Kijiji.
First, let’s discuss the benefits of eBay. In my opinion, this is the best and safest way to buy Lululemons online. The reason behind this is that you can find great deals on eBay that save you a lot of money on your purchase. Also, eBay is relatively safe, if you take the proper precautions. Due to eBay’s bidding structure, most of the time you can buy Lululemons much cheaper than in store. One thing to watch out for is the cost of shipping, always keep this in mind when bidding on items on eBay. Depending on the seller, the shipping cost will vary from auction to auction, so be sure to check this shipping cost for each item before you bid on it.
What most of you are probably wondering is if eBay is really safe. The answer for the most part is that eBay is safe, but you have to be careful. With over 100 million buyers on eBay, eBay has put systems in place to prevent fraudulent activity and ensure you get what you pay for. One of the systems is eBay’s recommended payment system, PayPal, which is the safest way to pay for items online. The reason PayPal is so secure is in part because it is owned by eBay. Essentially, the way PayPal works is that you provide them with your personal information, including bank and credit card information through a secure website, and they facilitate payment from you (the buyer) to the seller. Rest easy because PayPal will never give this information to anyone and the information is stored in a highly secure database. Specifically, after winning an auction, you (the buyer) log in to PayPal to pay for the item, PayPal then transfers the money to the seller. In case something goes wrong, you can contact PayPal to get your money back.
One very important point is that you should never give your credit card information to a seller unless you have a secure website and are comfortable with the process. If you are sure that a particular website is safe, you are better off using PayPal. Also, never send money through a money order company. The reason for this is that you don’t actually know where you’re sending the money, and if something goes wrong, it’s extremely difficult to trace your payment to get it back.
Another safety precaution before bidding on an item on eBay is to look at sellers’ information, such as their feedback. This will tell you all about what other buyers who have purchased from this seller have to say. You can see what kind of products they have sold in the past and where they are located. At the time of this writing, I have not seen any Lululemon items sold outside of North America. However, if Lululemons are sold outside of North America in the future, I would not recommend purchasing these items, as there is a chance they are knockoffs.
Before I talk about Craigslist and Kijiji, I want to emphasize that you should always be sure of what you’re paying for. Don’t be afraid to ask the seller any additional questions about the item or if you would like to see a different image of the item, just ask.
Finally, since Craigslist and Kijiji are very similar, I’ll discuss them together. Craigslist and Kijiji are online classifieds websites that allow people to list the items they have for sale. There are basically two scenarios when it comes to buying from classifieds websites. First, the item is sold locally so you can pay cash for the item when you pick it up. Second is that the item is not sold locally and the seller will mail it to you after receiving your payment. Personally, I only recommend using Craigslist and Kijiji for local selection, as it’s reasonably safe. This is because you can see the product before paying the seller. You know exactly what you are getting. If for any reason when you go to pick up the item and it’s not exactly what you agreed to buy you can always change your mind.
If you decide to buy an item off-premises (I personally don’t recommend this option as it’s not very secure), there are a few things you need to know. Do not provide your credit card information to the seller and do not send the money by money order. Just use PayPal, because if something goes wrong, there is a change, you may be able to get your money back. There are many scammers on sites like Craigslist and Kijiji, so you should be very careful when using this option, the Buyer Beware principle really applies here. If something seems too good to be true, that’s because it is, as it is clearly a scam.
I really recommend using eBay to buy new or used Lululemon products online. It really is the best option in terms of security and there are many offers too.
