We all know that commenting, and especially e-book and article writing, are among the absolute favorites among successful affiliate marketers, blogs bar none. Attracting visitors is one thing, but getting those visitors to actually convert is quite another exercise.
The problem is that many newbies comment and post on sites and with publishers that are not yet indexed in Google. This completely defeats the purpose entirely, simply because the chances of getting visitors from such efforts are exceptionally slim to none at best.
Now the best part is that Google already provides you with all the tools you need at no cost, in fact most of the tools used by professionals are free tools. You just have to look in the right places, but that’s also why most newbies find it difficult. It is not the tactics behind the method of making money online that is so difficult, but rather the time consuming factor that makes it a less sought after pursuit.
The Page Rank Checker Tool – This is where you use Google Page Rank Checker to make sure sites are indexed and even ranked in Google. But you need to apply some simple rules.
When you enter a Domain in the page rank checker, you want to focus only on the parent Domain and rule out anything after that. Now, a primary domain will end in (.com) (.info) (.org) (.net) (.co.za) to name just a few examples, but you should take advantage of the simplicity. Anything with a forward slash (/) after the main domain should not be entered into the Google Page Rank Checker, and preferably, non-SEO-friendly characters such as (?_!*%&) should not be entered. . SEO-friendly characters are just numbers, letters, and any characters entered without the use of the Shift button on your keyboard.
You may also notice that some URLs will start with (https) instead of the normal (http) and in such cases I would strongly recommend removing the (S). Failing to do so will result in an inaccurate search result and you may just be missing out on a high ranking site.
Even a result of 0/10 out of a possible 10 is a clear indication that the site is indexed in Google. Now, don’t make the mistake of underestimating the sites with a 0/10 result, as I have come across some of these sites that have millions of monthly visitors per month.
We’ll take a look at how to set that with the second tool later in the article. You will have several types of results and after you open the Google Page Rank checker tool. Now, just enter the URL you want to scan in the provided window and click search. Next, you will simply fill in the title and proceed to search for the URL of your choice. When the search result shows a score indicating (N/A), it is a clear indication that the site is not indexed in Google. These are the kind of sites that can waste your time commenting and posting.
You may also end up with a results page indicating the result (N/A) as mentioned above, but with a large red block next to the result. You want to stay away from these types of sites especially, because backlinks from such sites will do a lot more harm than good to your own site’s Google rating. These types of backlinks can even cause Google to mark your site as unsafe, and that means months of hard work down the drain.
How to know how much traffic a site receives – This is also done using a free tool called Similar Web, where you also enter the URL you want to check. Only with this tool you don’t need to worry about the (https) and (http) sections of the URL, instead you need to focus on the primary domain URL only.
similar web tool. Now just enter the URL and click “Start”, and Similar Web Tool will do the rest. You will have ranking results and category ranking analysis, but in some cases you may find that there are no results available yet for a particular site.
But don’t ignore these sites, it just means the site is fairly new and not necessarily a danger as a backlink to your own site. However, you need to make sure that the site is indexed in Google with the first tool introduced and discussed in this article..
Two simple, yet exceptionally effective tools for tapping into more appropriate visitors, resulting in better conversion and even sales. Now, the “trick” to getting those visitors to convert, aside from using these two tools, is to make sure your targeting is done correctly. Target the right audience through your keyword research. Keyword research can be done with another free tool Google gives you to work with called Google Keyword Planner.
Keyword Planner Tool allows you to search for the three most important keyword categories namely;
Keywords – These are normally single words and are also the kind of keywords you want to be present in places like the domain name and site title. This makes it easier for Google to know what your site is about and helps with your ranking within a specific niche.
long tail keywords – Usually no more than 2 or 3 keywords combined in a sentence. Short tail keywords can be something like “Internet”, “Online” and “Marketing”, where long tail keyword can be something like “Online Marketing”. Long-tail keywords are the ones you might want to include in things like a site’s H1 and/or H2 header, and especially blog post titles.
anchor text – Now, to better illustrate anchor text, it’s the type of phrase that someone within your niche might enter into their browser for a specific search. As an illustration, let’s go with something like “How to work from home.” This means that the person you are looking for is looking for something specific, is interested in working from home. This is also what professionals call buyer traffic. When such a search result leads that visitor to your site, and you have a proven program that they’ll be interested in, they’re more likely to buy from you. Anchor text is the type of search phrase you want to use to complete the content of your article and/or blog post.
That brings us to the conclusion of some great tools to use to make money online. But take the time and learn how to use these tools correctly, because they are tools. It’s a proven fact that any tool only works as well as the person using it, so put in the extra effort and do your research properly.
